Client Requirement
TRQM is a reporting tool to allow different views of the data contained in the Trades Archive Database of all Financial Brokerage corporations. The reports were to be run-time defined by the user with the help of a user-friendly tool. The system was expected to be flexible to interface with any RDBMS for data retrieval. The user defined reports needed to be stored for future use.
Solution Implemented
TRQM System trade database ad-hoc query and reporting tool, specifically points to the Trades Archive Database of any Financial Brokerage corporations. Each row retrieved refers to a single execution of a trade processed in the current year. Trade information dating back to as much as seven years was developed on a Windows-based GUI front-end tool. The system has interfaces to various databases, like Sybase, Oracle and IBM-DB2 as the database engine.
Benefits - Created a facility for the user to formulate their own query to automatically retrieve data and to save the query for future use.
- Automate generation of tabular report to view data.
- Allow multiple query windows and multiple reports to be opened at the same time.
- Enable user to save the report in different file formats like tab-delimited text, comma-delimited text, Lotus, Excel and SQL.
